Marian Sangalang Becomes President of Receivables Management Association International
The Bureaus, Inc. is excited to announce that Vice President Marian Sangalang has become President of Receivables Management Association International (RMAI). Her advancement from President-Elect was announced at the 22nd RMAI Annual Conference in Las Vegas from February 5-7, 2019.
Mrs. Sangalang has been a longstanding member of RMAI and became a Certified Receivables Compliance Professional (CRCP) in 2014. She has served as Chair or Co-Chair of the Legislative Fundraising, Membership, Business Development, Federal Legislative/Regulatory, and Education Committees as well as the State Legislative/Regulatory Committee, the Business Development Task Force, and is currently serving as Co-Chair of the Federal Legislative/Regulatory Committee. Mrs. Sangalang was elected by her peers to the Board of Directors in 2015, served as President-Elect from 2018-2019 and is now serving as President of RMAI.
At the most recent RMAI Annual Conference, Mrs. Sangalang and RMAI Board members and staff pioneered the “Women in the Industry Reception,” a networking event for women in the ARM industry that was attended by both men and women. The event was an overwhelming success and it is hopeful that it will become a regular event at the RMAI Annual Conference.
“I am extraordinarily proud to represent our Association as its President for the next year,” says The Bureaus, Inc. Vice President Marian Sangalang. “The positive growth we have seen in our membership over the last year and the increased attendance at the Annual Conference last week have been exceptionally heartening. We are embarking into new territory by branching out into new markets, deploying new technologies, and navigating new regulations. I am excited about the future we will create together. We welcome everyone’s participation to accelerate the growth that is essential to our success. I thank everyone who has supported me throughout the years, but especially the RMAI Board, our RMAI members, and my peers at The Bureaus, Inc. I look forward to working together to facilitate platforms where we can collectively discuss our industry, the barriers we face, and how we can positively move forward together.”
Beginning as a collector over 30 years ago, and now an integral part of The Bureaus for 22+ years, Marian Sangalang has intricate knowledge of not just the industry, but also the systems, data, technology, and the relationships within it. During her career, she has pioneered many popular industry software suites and continues to work closely with developers to optimize products for business use.
