In his role as Chief Compliance Officer and Legal Counsel, Rodney Giove oversees Metacorp’s compliance department, prepares all operating policies and procedures, and oversees all third party collection agency onboarding. My favorite part of working at Metacorp is the people I get to work with, but other than my team, I love the excitement of being able to work with a fledgling company and help in its growth.

Like everyone else in the receivables industry, the new CFPB Debt Collection Rule has my attention. It is something that everyone in the industry has been preparing for.

I think more and more of the collection process will be automated and everyone will see significantly less person-to-person contact. I think that with how society currently consumes technology, most consumer contact will be through text, email, and company websites as opposed to phone conversations.

I define success as waking up each morning with a smile on your face and not dreading the day ahead of you.

The best advice is “treat people how you want to be treated.” Alternatively, my father’s favorite phrase was, “Don’t be an idiot,” and there is a lot of wisdom in that one too.

In this industry, you need to have thick skin. Unfortunately, people in the ARM industry are sometimes treated as moving targets. You have to be able to handle the negative equally as well as the positive. You also need to have the willingness to adapt and adjust as this industry is constantly changing and evolving.

That’s an easy answer. I am most proud of my two sons; the oldest is 9 and the youngest is 6.

My favorite podcast is Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs by Chuck Klosterman. It’s a podcast aboutpop culture and covers topics that include movies, sports, television, music, books, video games, and kittens.

I love sports (see my answer to the next question), so I would be a Sports Agent or any management position in the world of professional sports.

I once stopped NHL Hall of Famer Dennis Savard on a penalty shot during a Fantasy Hockey Camp. Afterwards, he even threw his stick in frustration!
