Executive Spotlight with Mark Reinhard

Receivables Info Executive Spotlight with Mark Reinhard

What are your primary duties in your current role?

I am the Owner and Chief Software Architect at Concepts2Code. I lead our team in the planning and development of new software solutions and integrations. I also work with agencies and their IT teams to ensure all systems are linked in real-time and consumers have seamless positive digital experiences.

Industry Q&A:

How did you join the receivables industry?

20 years ago, I was a software consultant. I designed payment portals for 3 different companies who were totally unrelated. After a short while, I realized there was a need for quality software in the industry and started working on commercial products to sell to other agencies.

In the receivables industry, what emerging trend has your attention?

The increased use of texting and AI. Our industry is always a bit restricted by regulations, but with the recent changes in consumer communication preferences and advances in AI, these two technologies are starting to take off.

What are your hopes for the receivables industry?

I would like to see more software companies collaborating on projects together. We already work with many other vendors to integrate our systems, which allows the clients the best opportunity to succeed. However, leaning into further collaborative opportunities could help increase both client and consumer benefits exponentially.

What is your favorite part of working at your company?

I have always loved building software, but seeing it increase the revenue for our clients is very satisfying. We love it when customers start to realize the impact of a powerful software platform.

Professional Motivation & Inspiration:

Share a quote that motivates or inspires you:

“Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs.”
– Farrah Gray

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received in life?

“Invest your extra money instead of buying more stuff.”

Our industry deals with many people who are experiencing significant financial struggles that are often extremely challenging to get out of. I learned the lesson of saving dollars for a rainy day long ago, and it has allowed me to take some risks like starting my own company.

What are you most proud of, or what is your biggest accomplishment?

Outside of work, I have become both a volunteer EMT and a Ski Patroller. I find it extremely rewarding to be able to help people who are injured or in need of assistance. I’ve also found that surrounding myself with others who choose to do the same can lead to some truly incredible friendships. I am very proud to be part of both organizations.

Personal Q&A:

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A pilot. But that never “took off.” :-)

If you work from home, what is the best thing about your home office setup/working from home? And if you work in an office, what is your favorite part of working in the office?

I have a hybrid work setup, so some days I am in the office, and other times I am operating remotely.

Working at home is nice for the obvious reasons, such as enjoying lunch on the couch, having access to a full fridge, etc. But working at the office truly offers the “water cooler” experience and other socialization that you just can’t get with remote work. It’s really nice to chat regularly with people who you are not working on projects with.

What is your favorite book, movie, TV show, podcast, or music genre?

I love stand up comedy, both in person or on TV. I watch all the Netflix standup specials and any “roast” that comes out.

People would be surprised if they knew…

Hmmm…. I can’t think of anything exciting.

Do you have a pet? If so, what kind and what’s their name?

No pets currently. I really like to travel and would feel too bad leaving them at home.
