Receivables Info Executive Spotlight with Debra Tucker
What are your primary duties in your current role?
I have the pleasure of working with CAM’s General Counsel/CCO and our compliance team as we partner with contracted law firms and collection agencies on compliance matters.
Industry Q&A:
How did you join the receivables industry?
After my discharge from the U.S. Navy, where I served as a Legalman supporting the JAGC community, I knew I wanted to stay in the legal realm. That desire led me to accept a position at TSYS/NAN supporting the General Counsel/Corporate Secretary.
In the receivables industry, what emerging trend has your attention?
New technology, including AI. While AI may bring some significant enhancements and efficiencies to our industry, AI has the potential to open new compliance challenges and the potential for consumer harm. I am eager to continue learning all the compliance angles of this emerging technology.
What are your hopes for the receivables industry?
I continue to be impressed by how well the industry associations have worked together to lobby for common-sense regulations to hold the industry accountable while protecting consumers from potential harm. I hope to see continued partnership and collaboration from RMAi, ACA, CRC, NCBA, and other industry groups in this endeavor.
What is your favorite part of working at your company?
My favorite part of working at CAM, hands down, is the opportunity to collaborate with our team of exceptionally talented professionals.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received in life?
“It’s not a big deal unless you make it a big deal.” – Mom
What are you most proud of, or what is your biggest accomplishment?
First and foremost, I am most proud of my son. I am proud of his kindness and generosity, volunteering his time to coach youth wrestling, and his service in the GA Army National Guard, including a tour in Afghanistan.
Second, I would say my 12 years serving in the U.S. Navy. It was my father’s 30-year career in the U.S. Navy that inspired me to enlist, which was the best life decision I ever made.
GO NAVY! BEAT ARMY!
Personal Q&A:
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A marine biologist (until I watched Jaws), then a Sailor in the U.S. Navy.
If you work from home, what is the best thing about your home office setup/working from home? And if you work in an office, what is your favorite part of working in the office?
I am a hybrid and appreciate the flexibility to avoid Atlanta traffic and focus the traffic time at home working on goals to support our Audit & Compliance Department and CAM’s mission.
What is your favorite book, movie, TV show, podcast, or music genre?
Books, movies, music, etc…. = U2
I also enjoy watching documentaries about American history.
People would be surprised if they knew…
I played shortstop and third base on an all-boy youth baseball team when I was 8 and 9. I
also pitched one game. Unfortunately, we lost that one 13-3.
Do you have a pet? If so, what kind and what’s their name?
I have three dogs. Fenty, a West Asian Village dog, was one of six puppies rescued by my son and his squad while serving in Afghanistan. I also have a Yorkie, Rex, and a Yorkie-
