Connect1 Joins Forces with 100 Women Who Care San Diego to Support Local Nonprofits

Partner Nancy Hughes attended the event on behalf of Connect1 and contributed to the collective fundraising success of over $15,000 raised in a single afternoon. The funds went directly to support local nonprofits serving critical needs throughout the San Diego area.

How the 100 Women Who Care Model Works

100 Women Who Care is a philanthropic initiative built on the idea that giving doesn’t need to be complicated to be powerful. Founded on a simple premise—bring 100 women together, each donating $100, and collectively award $10,000 to a local charity—the model has spread to cities across North America.

In San Diego, the 100 Women Who Care chapter has become a meaningful force for good. Each quarterly event follows a structured process:

• Nominate – Each member may nominate a charity of their choice.
• Present – Three selected charities are invited to present their mission and impact in 5-minute presentations.
• Vote – Members cast their votes, and the winning organization receives the pooled donations from the group.

This structure creates an immediate and direct way to support nonprofits that may not have large fundraising platforms but make an essential difference in the community. The model ensures that every dollar donated goes straight to the selected nonprofit, maximizing the impact.

At the March 2025 event, attendees brought together their collective resources and compassion to raise over $15,000, dramatically surpassing the minimum goal and creating even more opportunity for the selected organization.
