InDebted appoints new Australian Managing Director to lead enterprise growth and expand local operations

Sydney, Australia – 19 November 2025 — InDebted, the global leader in AI-powered collections infrastructure, has appointed Michael Chatfield as Managing Director for Australia, effective 10 November 2025. The appointment strengthens InDebted’s leadership in its home market as the company continues to expand its operations and support a growing client base across banking, financial services, utilities, and government.

The expansion comes as Australian organisations respond to shifts in customer behaviour, with consumers increasingly preferring digital communication, self-service channels, and more empathetic, empowering experiences. Enterprise organisations are now reassessing long-standing collections processes to better align with these expectations, particularly as traditional agency models face pressure from operational change, regulatory complexity, and consumer preferences moving away from voice-led approaches.

InDebted’s AI infrastructure enables organisations to take a more modern approach across the entire collections lifecycle, positioning the company to support both operational performance and improved customer experience, as enterprises seek more consistent, compliant, and scalable ways to manage collections activity.

Now the second-largest collections organisation in Australia, InDebted is committed to the Australian market and continues to grow its footprint locally. This month, InDebted opened its new Sydney office at 333 Kent Street, creating a purpose-built hub designed to support team connection and collaboration, along with deeper engagement with clients. The investment reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to the region, including a focus on data sovereignty, operational resilience, and market-specific regulatory expertise.

About Michael Chatfield

Michael Chatfield brings more than a decade of experience across fintech, credit risk, and customer engagement solutions. Most recently, he led the solutions sales function at illion, overseeing revenue across the company’s full portfolio. He previously served as General Manager at TalkingTech and held senior leadership roles at Experian, where he built deep expertise across the credit lifecycle, including consumer and commercial risk, fraud and identity, and open banking.

“InDebted has built something world-class,” Chatfield said. “The company’s purpose to support people in debt through an ethical, customer-first approach immediately resonated with me, as did Josh’s leadership and vision for the future of the industry. There is significant opportunity to expand our impact in Australia, and I’m looking forward to helping lead that next phase.”

Michael said his initial priorities will include strengthening existing client partnerships, expanding into adjacent verticals, and supporting the development of InDebted’s local team.

“The Australian business is in a strong position and ready for its next stage of growth,” he said. “Our opportunity lies in helping clients scale responsibly and introducing our platform to more sectors where modern, digital engagement can make a meaningful difference.”

Founder and CEO Josh Foreman said Michael’s appointment comes at a time of continued growth and change across the industry.

“The Australian collections landscape is evolving, driven by shifting customer expectations and a growing need for modern, compliant solutions,” Foreman said. “Michael’s experience across the credit ecosystem makes him well suited to lead our next phase of growth. His understanding of the local market and the challenges facing large organisations will be valuable as we continue to deepen our presence in Australia.”
