What is your favorite part of working at Crown Asset Management, LLC?

My favorite part of working at CAM is our team and the company culture. Crown Asset Management fosters an atmosphere of professional growth and truly values its employees. The commitment to employee growth and opportunity, coupled with the vast knowledge and experience of our team, keeps everyone engaged and thriving to be the best that we can be.

In the receivables industry, what emerging trend has your attention?

I have been watching the state-level changes that are growing around consumer privacy laws and the increased allowance in consumer exemptions.

What industry change do you predict over the next 5 years?

I think we will see a huge movement towards increased consumer privacy laws and increased technology in the areas of consumer-centric self-help portals. I believe that traditional individual-to-individual contact is moving rapidly towards being replaced or minimized by digital communications and self-assisted portals that allow continuous access at the consumer’s convenience.

How do you define success?

My definition of success has certainly changed over the years. Early in my career, it was about proving my worth to others by achieving recognition, obtaining a title, and having a good salary. Today, it is more of an internal challenge to make the most out of each day by identifying opportunities for improvement, implementing change for increased productivity, and assisting others to reach their own professional goals. Success is the culmination of setting and achieving goals that improve not only your company‘s bottom line but also your team’s quality of life.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received in life?

Never stop learning, always be open to change, and make the most of each day.

What advice would you give someone entering the receivables management industry?

Stay informed! Read as much as possible from all the available industry sites and organizations. This is a rapidly changing environment that requires constant attention to detail but offers a landscape of opportunity for the right people.

What are you most proud of or what is your biggest accomplishment?

Although attending law school and passing the bar was a major accomplishment, I would say that I am most proud of the success of my children. My husband and I worked diligently to instill values in our children that dreams are accomplished through hard work and commitment. I am so proud of each accomplishment my children achieve.

What is your favorite book or podcast?

My favorite book is The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. I read it as a young adult, and it encouraged me to embrace my individualism and follow my dreams. The undertones of the book implore you to do the right thing while doing what makes you happy. Too often, people follow the crowd instead of making their own path.

If you could do any other non-industry job for just one day, what would it be?

I would be an architect and design custom homes.

People would be surprised if they knew…

My husband and I flip houses on the side. I love watching a run-down house turn into a beautiful home for someone.
