Who is Central Portfolio Control?
CPC, is a professional debt collection agency founded in 1998 and headquartered in Minnetonka, MN. We partner with local, regional, and national creditors to achieve financial performance goals with minimal risk and optimal customer experiences. We take a professional and empathetic approach to recovering accounts as we work with consumers to find amicable solutions and resolve account balances smoothly.

CPC offers federal agencies and prime contractors 13 years of proven experience as a Small Business subcontractor on one of the Federal Government’s largest and most complex financial service contracts—the U.S. Department of Education defaulted student loan contract—servicing more than $200 billion in delinquent loans. CPC’s extensive experience, combined with our compliant, data-driven systems, gives us the authority to operate on large, complex projects with stringent Service Level Agreements (SLA) like government contracts. With regard to disputes, you will receive a written acknowledgment of the receipt of your dispute. Disputes are typically processed within 1-2 business days of the request. If we are unable to locate your account, we may need to contact you. CPC will respond with the outcome of the investigation within 30 days of the receipt of the dispute.
Making Payments to Central Portfolio Control
CPC offers consumers several options for making payments to their accounts. Payments can be made online, by phone, and by mail using a credit card, check, money order or cashier’s check. CPC also accepts payments wired via Western Union.
CPC has an online account management portal on our website for consumers to get more information about their account, make payments, view documents, and more. Consumers can visit portal.cpcrecovery.com to authenticate themselves and access the online portal.
Is Central Portfolio Control Listed on Your Credit Report?
On behalf of our clients’ CPC, reports accounts to the major credit bureaus, including TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax. CPC is a third-party collection agency that relays the information and documentation provided to us by our clients when reporting to the credit bureaus. Central Portfolio Control strives to be flexible for consumers, working to help consumers resolve accounts on their credit report while staying within the requirements of the law.
