Industry Q&A:

How did you join the receivables industry?

I joined the collections industry as a collections representative with Creditors Interchange in
2003.

In the receivables industry, what emerging trend has your attention?

The integration of AI into our business development and sales CRM. Additionally, we’re leveraging AI across our collections omnichannel strategy, particularly focusing on modeling our approach with the 30-year-old and younger demographic.

What are your hopes for the receivables industry?

My hopes for the receivables industry revolve around continued innovation and advancement. I envision a future where technology plays a central role in enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across all aspects of receivables management. With the adoption of cutting-edge tools such as AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics, I hope to see the industry become even more adept at understanding consumer behavior, identifying trends, and customizing strategies to meet individual needs.

Moreover, I aspire for greater collaboration and transparency within the industry, fostering stronger relationships between creditors, debt buyers, and consumers. Ultimately, my hope is for a receivables industry that not only achieves financial success but also prioritizes ethical practices, consumer protection, and positive customer experiences.

What is your favorite part of working at your company?

One of the most enjoyable aspects of working at my company is the incredible team of people and partners I have the privilege of collaborating with. They are among the hardest-working and brightest individuals I’ve encountered in the industry. Together, we are all focused on achieving a shared goal, which creates a dynamic and supportive work environment.

Professional Motivation & Inspiration:

One quote that continually motivates and inspires me is by Steve Jobs: “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”

This quote resonates with me because it emphasizes the importance of passion and dedication in our work. It reminds me to strive for excellence and never settle for mediocrity, always pushing myself and my team to pursue greatness in everything we do.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received in life?

The best piece of advice I’ve ever received is to embrace failure as a stepping stone to success. It’s a reminder that setbacks and challenges are inevitable in life, but they also present valuable opportunities for growth and learning. Instead of fearing failure, I’ve learned to see it as a necessary part of the journey toward achieving my goals. By embracing failure and learning from it, I’ve been able to develop resilience, perseverance, and a deeper understanding of myself and my capabilities.

What are you most proud of, or what is your biggest accomplishment?

I am most proud of the way my team at Landmark has embraced my personal ethos of giving back to the community. Through our boots-on-the-ground volunteer approach with local organizations like FeedMore WNY, we have been able to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need. Seeing my team’s dedication to service and their passion for making a positive impact fills me with immense pride. It is not only a testament to their character but also to the culture of compassion and generosity that we have cultivated at Landmark. This commitment to giving back is, without a doubt, one of my biggest accomplishments as a leader.

Personal Q&A:

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

As a child, I was always drawn to the idea of entrepreneurship and owning my own business. Even at a young age, I found myself fascinated by the concept of creating something from nothing and charting my own path.

If you work from home, what is the best thing about your home office setup/working from home? And if you work in an office, what is your favorite part of working in the office?

As someone who works from my office, I thrive on the energy and camaraderie of our team as we collaborate to achieve our goals and solve challenges together. The opportunity to interact face-to-face with colleagues, share ideas in real-time, and build relationships fosters a sense of camaraderie and teamwork that enhances the overall work experience.
